Information:  On the above date and time the Green Lake County 911 Dispatch Center received numerous calls of a possible drowning victim on Big Green Lake. The Green Lake County Sheriff's Office Boat Patrol responded and located the area where the subject was last seen. Markers were placed in the last known possible location. The male subject was located at approximately 7:15pm in 109 feet of water. The victim was recovered at 7:46pm and was transported to shore. The Green Lake County Coroner's Office was on scene and pronounced death at that time.

The Green Lake County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Green Lake-Brooklyn Fire Dept, Princeton Fire Dept Water rescue, Markesan Fire Dept Water Rescue, Neshkoro Fire Dept Water Rescue, Wautoma Fire Dept Water Rescue, Fort McCoy Fire Dept Water Rescue, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin DNR Conservation Wardens, Berlin Ambulance Service, Green Lake Police Dept, Berlin Police Dept, and the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office Dive Team.

Assistance was also provided by Shoreline Boat Center of Green Lake, Bruce's Legacy Water Rescue of Black River Falls, WI, and numerous concerned citizens who provided invaluable assistance in maintaining a safe perimeter for rescue workers to perform their duties.

The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending completion of the investigation. New information will be provided when available by media release from the Green Lake County Sheriff's Office.

The Green Lake County Sheriff's Office strongly recommends the use of proper and well maintained PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICES at all times while on the water.
