Starting salary is $65,062 - $68,161 annually, plus an $1.00/hr add-on ($3.00 for certain locations in Milwaukee and Dodge Co), plus benefits. Pay upon appointment for current or former State employees may vary and will be in accordance with the Compensation Plan, Statutes, and Administrative Code. Candidates new to state service are eligible for a sign-on bonus of $1,000. We also offer weekend schedules. This position is in pay schedule/range 11-02. A 12 month probationary period is required. Position Summary: This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care to inmate patients in both ambulatory and infirmary settings, providing patient assessment and treatment, assisting physicians in providing medical services, managing medications, providing emergency care, and maintaining medical records. In addition, the Nurse Clinician 2 is expected to participate in educational programs for staff and patients and participate in activities to maintain her/his nurse competency at a minimun profient level. Special Notes: Registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin at time of employment. Registration as a Registered Nurse in another state or reciprocating state. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
