The starting pay is between $56,908 and $93,870 per year, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Position Summary: This position develops, implements, and modifies the security programs, manage and monitor security staff, including hiring, training, disciplinary and employment relations activities. It also coordinates security services with Treatment, Business Management, Human Resources and Education Departments to ensure appropriate security in all areas, coordinates the security programs with other Institutions, DOC Administrators, State and Local Law Enforcement Officials and security staff of other Institutions. Implements Affirmative Action/Civil Rights compliance plan, and recommends security policy to the Deputy Warden/ Warden. Communicates with inmate families and other parties. Special Notes: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment. Applicants who fail or refuse the drug screen will not be given further consideration for employment. Qualifications: Minimally qualified applicants will have experience: � Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures for a 24/7 operation � Supervising staff (e.g. hiring, training, assigning and directing work, performance evaluations, etc.) � Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team in a correctional setting � Directing, implementing, and evaluating security standards In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience: � Investigating staff and/or inmate misconduct allegations How To Apply: For applicants who have Career Executive status in the Wisconsin classified state service, submit a current resume and cover letter detailing how your experiences apply to the qualifications described above.
