TITLE

Maintenance Manager

Operations Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • PM Pillar Owner - Responsible for the PM Pillar; developing 90-day plans, and strategic and tactical planning
    • Ensure technical documentation, PMs, and spares for department equipment and systems are identified and in place
    • Coach teams and leadership on effective PM planning
    • PM Pillar DMS development and implementation (PM Planning/Work Orders)
  • Maximize equipment availability, minimize unplanned downtime, and extend equipment life
  • Manage reliability team - Ability to effectively engage, lead, and build technical mastery and capability in the reliability team and team technicians
  • Develop trouble-shooting abilities at all levels
  • Develop and execute maintenance cost centers for the plant
  • Ensure all plant maintenance operations are conducted in a safe and controlled environment
  • Own a safety and/or quality key element
  • Improve Process Reliability and Run Efficiency
  • Effectively communicate results, address gaps in department performance through the implementation and effective coaching of Smucker Continuous Improvement methodologies; foster a zero-loss culture
  • Project support as needed
  • Active participation in developing and executing advanced mechanical and E&I training and qualification programs; participate in assessments, ensure effective training, and maintain consistent qualification standards

SELECTION CRITERIA

Education

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline is required

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience is required
  • Experience leading, supervising, or managing others is preferred

Other

  • Mechanical and electrical experience in food manufacturing preferred
  • Knowledge of high performance work systems and implementation preferred
  • Ability to prioritize work in a high demand work environment
  • Ability to work and influence within a team environment
  • Strong analytical trouble-shooting, technical problem-solving, and root cause identification skills
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and able to motivate others
  • Demonstrated results in manufacturing maintenance utilizing maintenance systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed to most effectively support the organization
  • Ability to spend significant time on the manufacturing floor (walking, standing, lifting, bending, climbing stairs, lifting up to 75 lbs.)
