Overview

Applications are being accepted for a part-time Housekeeper at Moraine Park Technical College, Fond du Lac campus. This position 

performs custodial duties for an assigned area at the Fond du Lac campus and performs heavy duty cleaning throughout the Fond du Lac campus as needed.

Beginning: Immediately

Responsibilities

1. Vacuum, sweep, dust and clean classrooms, offices, labs, corridors and shops. Clean table tops, desks, blackboards, glass and counter tops. Empty and clean wastepaper baskets, and pencil sharpeners.2. Clean restrooms. Clean sinks, toilets, mirrors, partitions and water fountains. Refill soap and paper dispensers.

3. Operate cleaning equipment to scrub, wax, buff floors, shampoo carpeting and clean furniture.

4. Stock housekeeping room and notify supervisor when supply items need to be reordered.5. Straighten, move and arrange furniture. Provide extra furniture as needed.6. Resolve immediate customer problems such as locating rooms, opening doors, room conflicts, AV needs and refer to other staff for assistance as necessary.7. Identify problems and notify supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repairs and/or replacement.

8. Perform building security functions as required. Remove snow from sidewalks.9. Identify and dispose of recyclable materials, hazardous waste and contaminated materials according to District procedure and safety guidelines.10. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma and one year of experience in performing routine building cleaning.

2. Any combination of equivalent training and experience which provides desired knowledge, skills and abilities.

3. Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and ability to operate heavy duty cleaning equipment.

4. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.5. Ability to analyze and prioritize job assignments.6. Ability to communicate effectively and work effectively with a variety of staff, students and general public.

7. Ability to lift 50 lbs.

8. Knowledge of Employee Right To Know, bloodborne pathogens, and other safety regulations.

9. Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding desirable.
