Position Summary:

The Manager – Digital Experience is accountable for online and various digital deployment efforts supporting Mercury marketing strategies.  This role reports into the Senior Manager – Online & Consumer Engagement and will support the Senior Manager’s development of integrated digital experiences.  There is currently one direct report into the Manager – Digital Experience, as well as digital agency teams which support the role’s activities.

This is a key position within Marketing, and the ideal candidate will display potential to advance to further levels of accountability.  Indicators of this potential are the ability to articulate actionable strategies, execute initiatives, and deliver results that enhance Mercury’s leadership within its competitive arena.  The ability to listen and learn, apply empathy in development of insights, and collaboratively drive action will be keys to successful fulfillment of the requirements of this role.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible for Mercury and Quicksilver branded online experience and deployment plans across all key stakeholder groups (OEM/Dealer/Boater) in alignment with business and brand goals.Guide development of new content and utility for mercurymarine.com and other online properties.Brief agencies, oversee production efforts, and evaluate effectiveness of output for fit with strategy and appeal to target audiences.Create and execute business and technical plans, revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.Ensure work completion within schedule, budgetary and design constraints; make decisions about analysis, design, and testing; solve complex technical problems; and provide alternative methods for achieving goals when necessary. Serve as the subject matter expert for all digital platforms and ensure that marketing and other teams are getting the maximum value possible from each platform’s capabilities.Lead digital experience improvement initiatives using human-centered, design thinking methodologies.Document business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for projects and backlog items, and validate with key stakeholders.Manage and prioritize projects across internal and external resources to ensure timely deployment.Engage and collaborate with internal/external UX designers for the creation of designs that reflect business requirements.Conduct competitive research to identify best-in-class experiences and key trends.Review analytics to identify opportunity areas for experience improvement.Partner with Manager – Marketing Technology & Operations to fully utilize and leverage available marketing and CRM capabilities, including marketing automation, integration of user experience across interactive channels, etc.Manage, coach, and mentor direct report to excellence in execution, improved capabilities, and greater engagement with Marketing and the broader organization.Implement search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and measure results.Assume primary accountability for management of online / digital agencies in day-to-day execution against stated Marketing objectives, development of strategic POV’s, continuous improvement in effective deployment of resources, etc.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.Minimum 5+ years’ professional experience with 3+ years in marketing or customer-facing roles.Minimum 3+ years’ professional experience with direct accountability for digital marketing activities such as website product management.Knowledge of message personalization and execution best practices.Track record of accomplishment in cross-functional endeavors.Experience in managing staff and outside resources (agencies, freelancers, consultants).Creative, decisive, responsive, able to work independently and take responsibility for decisions and outcomes.  Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.Travel domestically.
