Position provides ongoing technical and programming support for production machining processes on lathes, grinders, and machining centers for steel components.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide ongoing support for machining processes including:CNC program/parameter adjustmentsProcess troubleshootingProcess optimizationCollaborate with and assist maintenance with machine issuesSupport manufacturing as it relates to tooling speeds and feeds for cutting tools used on lathes and machining centers.Maintain and provide technical support to maintenance personnel on machine control parameters.Assist in the identification and evaluation of new tooling applicationsWrite basic programs for lathes, grinders, 3 and 4 axis mills (10-15% of the time)Maintain appropriate levels of documentation.

 Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

Good communication skills both written and oral.Ability to assist in developing multistage operations to insure faster throughput, lower tooling costs, greater machine utilization, faster process planning, and higher quality.Ability to anticipate both the movement of the tools and clamping requirements necessary to secure the work piece.Ability to visualize the part orientations with respect to the limitations of the machine tool.Knowledge of MasterCAM Software for creation of CNC programs preferred

Education and Experience Requirements:

2 year Technical Degree in CNC Programming or equivalent experience.Minimum of 5 years of machining experience running machines and performing some set-up applications.Shop floor support, editing, and program prove-out experience preferred.Experience with Okuma lathes and Mazak mills is beneficial

This job is for Second Shift 2::30 PM - 11:00 PM.
