Major Function: Grow and maintain the health of the global controls & rigging product portfolios.  Lead, guide and influence product portfolio planning, pricing, consumer research, marketing, business case development, product line management, and new product development related to the product category.  Function as a liaison between Category Management and adjacent internal departments, international branches, and customers, supporting the development of brand and product marketing strategies and materials, volume forecasting and competitive analysis and benchmarking.  Initiatives will culminate in increased product line efficiency, external market growth and increased financial contributions.  This is a dynamic position with high visibility and outstanding growth potential!

Responsibilities

Lead critical business analysis on key strategic marine issues (competitive strategy, partnership strategy, product strategy, pricing, and distribution strategy)Support new product development and design change initiatives driven by market demand, government regulations and/or cost reduction activitySupport current product efforts to include forecasting / inventory management, market positioning and quality efforts.Facilitate business case/charter development for new product programs and provide direction for the development and growth of the categoryHelp with the development, planning and implementation of product plans, with a primary focus on lifecycle and new product management for maximized category growth and brand healthAnalyze competitive research, trends, and gather VOC to guide category strategy and programsCollaborate with internal PD&E staff, marketing, service and sales leaders, dealers, customers and external strategic business partners to develop product strategies and plansPresent category strategic initiatives to senior leadership and program teams

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements

Proven leadership ability and interpersonal skillsVerbal, presentation, and writing skills necessary to communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationOrganizational skills necessary to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent quantitative/qualitative skills; high agility in performing quantitative analysis as well as using strategic frameworks.Ability to work cross-functionally and think both critically and strategically.

Education and Experience Requirements

BS/BA degree in Business or a Technical fieldProduct management and/or knowledge of SmartCraft/boating/marine industry preferred, but not required5+ years professional experienceThe candidate must have a track record of outstanding success relative to peers and should have demonstrated leadership skills.
