Job Description:

This team member will be responsible for the execution of dyno testing within Mercury Marine Engineering. This individual will report to the dyno supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

Be an effective team member and commitment to safetyConduct dyno testing for new and current productRig engines in dyno cell, install and/or connect instrumentationPerform engine maintenance for engine’s on test (oil change, valve lash, spark plugs, oil samples)Install/remove engine parts as required (cylinder heads, cams, exhaust, sensors, etc)Troubleshoot engine and dyno cell issues, electrical and mechanicalFabricate fixtures, test parts, route lines as required by testOrganize and clean dyno cell and dyno console as needed

Experience and Skills:

Excellent interpersonal skillsGeneral curiosity and eagerness to learn as well as mentor othersExtreme attention to detail for written logs and data documentationProficient with internal combustion engine disassembly, assembly, troubleshooting and theory of operationProficient in the use of related precision tools and equipment (torque wrenches, borescopes, calipers)Strong computer skillsAbility to lift moderate weightBasic machining, welding and fabrication experience is preferredPrior experience with dyno testing, engine performance, emissions, tuning is a strong plusAVL Puma software experience is a plus

Education:

High School or Ged equivalent – minimumAssociates degree in an Engineering/Technical field – preferred
