Description
1st Major Area of Responsibility – Equipment Operations (Key Duties) Under limited supervision, operate multiple types of dairy equipment machines used for cheese and/or whey manufacturing processes, to produce product according to company specifications, quality and safety objectives. Inspect, calibrate, adjust, and troubleshoot the production equipment, and perform preventive/general maintenance as needed to ensure optimal performance. Communicate to Cheesemakers and/or Process Specialists any issues and adjustments that may be needed. 2nd Major Area of Responsibility– Production & Sanitation (Key Duties) Closely monitor the product and equipment to ensure processes are moving through the processing stages correctly so overall production is flowing efficiently. Perform required sampling and testing and record data appropriately. Must thoroughly understand processes and independently anticipate and make decisions that affect product quality. Make recommendations to improve processes and equipment operations. Be a resource and train new Associates on equipment and procedures. Maintain a clean working area by performing general sanitation of the equipment to keep the work area free of pathogens and chemical contamination. Tear down and assembly of equipment for sanitizing as needed. 3rd Major Area of Responsibility – Regulatory Compliance (Key Duties) Complete all required documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting as required by law and/or regulatory agencies, (i.e. DNR, DOL, EEOC, FDA, IMS, OSHA, SQF, USDA, WDA, etc.). Follow all SAFETY (food & workplace) policies and procedures. 4th Area of Responsibility – All other duties and responsibilities as requested or required (Key Duties) Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required. Follow company policies and procedures. Follow government standards and regulations. Provide back-up relief as needed.
Required Experience
Education Associate’s degree, High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience Minimum of four (4) years of related work experience and/or training required. Prior experience working with food manufacturing equipment preferred. Job Skills Requirements Strong math, reading, and writing skills. Ability to comprehend technical instructions/policies/procedures in written, verbal, or diagram form. Computer skills Licenses/Certifications – See Separate Chart
